In cooperation between the Embassy of India in Lebanon and the International Economic Lobby, yesterday evening, wednesday 13-04-2022, an Iftar was held for the Lebanese-Indian trade exchange in the Mövenpick Hotel Beirut.
The Iftar started with the speech of Dr. Ali Al Masri, who said: India is the world future, and the lobby was the first economic organization who lunched the Lebanese-Indian trade exchange back in 2016. Masri stressed the needs to go east regarding to the economy, especially in these circumstances, and stressed the importance of cooperation between Lebanon and India because India is the future of technology - food - medicine - Agriculture - Industry and many others.
Then, the Indian Ambassador of Lebanon, Dr. Sohail Ajaz Khan, addressed and explained the importance role of the Indian economy and the volume of joint venture trade exchange and what India can offer to Lebanon in terms of wheat, electricity, technology and other matters. Afterthought he thanked the lobby for its services specially supporting trade exchange between the two countries.
Then His Excellency the Lebanese Minister of Economy, Mr. Amin Salam, spoke and said that we, as Lebanese, must cooperate with India in various fields, especially that we have built a strong relationship with the Indian ambassador in Lebanon, noting that we seeking to import wheat from India as soon as possible.
At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Lobby presented an honorary shield to His Excellency the Ambassador of India in Lebanon, in the presence of the Lebanese Economy Minister.
The president of the lobby also presented an honorary shield to the head of the commercial department at the Indian embassy, Ms. Rana Zaituni, in the presence of the General coordinator and the lobby's internal affairs officer.
