The International Economic Lobby Hosts a High-Level Forum to Strengthen Tourism, Trade, and Investment Cooperation Between Lebanon and Malaysia

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international economic relations and create new opportunities for business leaders and investors, the International Economic Lobby, chaired by Dr. Ali El Masri, in cooperation with the Embassy of Malaysia in Lebanon, MATRADE Jeddah, and Tourism Malaysia Jeddah, organized a high-level economic and tourism forum aimed at enhancing trade, investment, and tourism cooperation between the Republic of Lebanon and Malaysia.

The forum was attended by Dr. Ali El Masri, President of the International Economic Lobby; Dr. Jano Haddad, Secretary General; Ms. Layal Abou Rjeily, Secretary; Mr. Johan Arief Jaafar, Chargé d’Affaires of Malaysia in Lebanon; Ms. Chloe Khalife, First Runner-Up of Miss Lebanon; together with a distinguished gathering of business leaders, media representatives, and individuals interested in economic and tourism affairs.

The event was moderated by Dr. Rana Zeitouni, Head of the Commercial Department at the International Economic Lobby, who facilitated the sessions and coordinated the forum’s discussions.

In his keynote address, Dr. Ali El Masri emphasized the significant potential for growth and development in Lebanese-Malaysian relations, highlighting the importance of building sustainable strategic partnerships between the private sectors of both countries. He stressed the need to intensify economic, commercial, and investment exchanges in order to create new business opportunities and expand bilateral economic cooperation.

Dr. El Masri further noted that Malaysia represents one of Asia’s most successful economic models, with advanced investment and tourism sectors. He reaffirmed that the International Economic Lobby will continue to serve as a platform connecting business leaders and investors while opening channels of communication with promising international markets.

For his part, Dr. Jano Haddad, Secretary General of the International Economic Lobby, presented an overview of Malaysia’s economic strength and global standing, emphasizing that tourism remains one of the key drivers of economic growth and an important area of cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Johan Arief Jaafar, Chargé d’Affaires of Malaysia in Lebanon, praised the initiative of the International Economic Lobby and commended the efforts of Dr. Ali El Masri in streRanaa Zeitouniges of cooperation between Lebanon and friendly nations. He also emphasized that Malaysia and Lebanon have strong potential to further enhance trade, investment, and tourism relations. In particular, he highlighted opportunities for cooperation in the Halal Industry, Islamic Tourism, and Muslim-Friendly Tourism sectors. Furthermore, he expressed support for organizing future business matching initiatives between Malaysian and Lebanese companies to foster new partnerships and unlock additional opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

The forum also featured live virtual presentations by senior representatives of MATRADE Jeddah and Tourism Malaysia Jeddah, including:

* Mr. Yazrin Syakhairi Mahlan, Consul (Trade) / Trade Commissioner, MATRADE Jeddah.
* Mr. Mohamad Nazirul Iman Mohamad Akbar, Vice Consul, MATRADE Jeddah.
* Mr. Zaidi Kassim, Director / Consul for Tourism (KSA, Levant, Yemen & North Africa), Tourism Malaysia Jeddah.

The speakers showcased the wide range of trade, investment, and tourism opportunities available in Malaysia, while presenting valuable insights into promising sectors, government incentives, investor facilitation programs, and tourism initiatives designed to strengthen economic cooperation and encourage greater engagement between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the forum, participants emphasized the importance of building upon this initiative through the organization of reciprocal economic, trade, and tourism delegations between Lebanon and Malaysia, with the aim of strengthening bilateral partnerships and opening new horizons for cooperation, investment, and sustainable economic growth.
